Our Summer Fun Kids Surfing Camps are a great way for kids to learn the sport in a social environment. The surfboards are easy to use and the instruction is fun, the kids feel success right away. The three-day SURFING day camps include SURFING skills and some theory, some safety talks, with small groups. These youth power camps enrich the lives of the students and promote healthy active lifestyles.
This is the Original Maui Kids Surfing Camp and has specialized in promoting kids SURFING since 1998. Many Kids will come back to several camps each summer and sometimes several summers in a row. We also have advanced groups for the slightly older kids that have progressed beyond the beginner?s program.
The future of the sport belongs to the kids. We are committed to introducing SURFING to kids in a safe, fun and well-organized environment. Sharing our love for the sport and watching the enthusiasm on their faces are the most rewarding aspects of our role as coaches.
Learning a new sport and making new friends is a great confidence booster. Our campers come alive as they discover the joy and freedom of SURFING. It is all play to them but they come away from the camps stronger, more confident and bursting with a new enthusiasm for SURFING.
Located at Kalama Beach Park in Kihei, we are blessed with super easy waves all summer long. Our summer SURFING kids camps start at 8:00 am each day when the winds are calm, for the best conditions. We do a short land lesson and form into small groups, of similar size and experience levels. We do some beach exercises, safety talk, and get into the water.
No experience is necessary. If kids have a little experience, a lot, or no experience at all, our program will work for them. Some of our kids will be working on the fundamentals, while others will be doing some more advanced techniques. Just let us know where they are at and we can get them going. Our beginner?s program starts at 8:00am.
The camps are suitable for children ages 9 and up. Camps are usually a mixture of local school kids and some summer visitors too. Many of the local kids are from SURFING families and are second and third generation surfers. Our visitor?s children are often a mix of newbies and some from SURFING families that have been visiting the islands for years. This is a great opportunity for local kids to mix in with some new kids and see some new faces.
