LESSON CONTENT
- All outdoor sports require preparation, including equipment setup, weather evaluation, and theory. All briefings, discussions, gear preparation is part of the lesson content and part of the lesson time. Not all of the time in the lesson is spent “on the water”.
- Some lessons can be completed entirely “on the beach”, whilst doing theory and exercises.
- When booking your lesson ask how much time on average is spent on water vs. on land.
- All students vary in learning style and speed.
- Each lesson will be individualized for the students ability, and personality.
- We cannot promise any expected level of results in a fixed time frame.
- We can only give estimates for anticipated student progression based on averages.
- Wind, waves, weather, fitness, health, knowledge, experience, and Luck, all factor into the equation, of “how far will I get?”.
- Some skills take longer to learn than others.
- Time spent adjusting gear, setting up gear, rigging sails, walking back upwind, pumping kites and untangling lines etc, is all considered as part of the lesson time.
LESSON DURATION
- For Clinics or Private lessons, we suggest arriving at least 30 minutes early for proper prep-time.
- Instructors wait a maximum of 30 minutes for students from the appointed start time.
- Instructors cannot wait for late students in group lessons.
- If you arrive late it comes out of your lesson time.
- If you have paid for a group lesson, and for some reason you are the only participant, then the class will revert to a private lesson of shorter duration.
- Example1: a 2 hour group surf becomes 1.5 hour private, no extra charge.
- Example2: if you have booked a 2.5 hour beginner group Windsurf it will become a 1.5 hour Private session (no extra charge).
- You may also have the option to upgrade to a full length private for an extra fee to make up the difference.
- If the student gets tired, or cold and wants to stop the lesson early there is no refund.
- If the instructor stops the lesson early because the student is too tired or cold there is no refund.
- If the instructor cuts the lesson short due to aggressive sea life, rescue, looking for lost gear, or other or safety reason, there is no refund.
