Stand Up Paddle Boarding
SUP Stand up paddle board lessons are a lot of fun. Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) is becoming hugely popular. Great on lakes, oceans, and even rivers too. SUP is great for Socializing, Fitness, and a great way to experience the outdoors too. Try it once and it might open the doors for many new adventures and experiences in your life. One great appeal about riding a Stand up paddle board is that no previous experience is required, and you do not have to be super fit to give it a try. It is much less demanding than regular surfing. Therefore SUP appeals to all ages, young and old. This makes paddle boarding a great activity that families can share together.
Getting Balance: Our Stand up paddle boarding (SUP) lessons begin on flat water, where you can learn to get your balance on the SUP-board. Stand up paddle boards are longer and wider than surfboards, which makes them more stable. SUP paddleboards can be ridden sitting, kneeling, or standing up, so some initial balance practice is covered. We use the paddle for propulsion and steering. We show you different types of strokes to help you stop and turn. SUP stand up paddle board lessons are lots of fun, and a great way to tour the reef too.
Take an Ocean Tour: SUP Paddle boarding is a very pleasant way to tour the ocean and to explore the reefs. If you are feeling more adventurous, you can try to catch some small waves. Our location has some gentle surf that is easy to ride. Most people will be fully satisfied (and exhausted) after their stand up paddle board lesson. In the SUP lessons, we supply all the equipment. We have different of sizes to accommodate different people. Example; Bigger folks will need a thicker paddle board with more flotation. Advanced SUP stand up paddle board surfers can choose a smaller more maneuverable board that turns faster.
Group Stand Up Paddle Board Lessons:
Every “standup paddle board session” begins with a brief land lesson to discuss technique, safety, and theory. Then we practice some of the skills you will need in the water. We start close to shore on the calmer water until you get comfortable with balance and steering. Each SUP class is small and personal. We go at your own pace, slow and steady, or as fast as you can assimilate the information. *We supply all the gear you need in this lesson. *Lessons run six days a week (no Sundays). *No experience necessary. *Private and Semi-private lessons available too.
Stand up Paddle Boarding Progression:
BEGINNERS: Stand Up Paddle board lessons are a lot of fun. Learn about safety, etiquette, and the core techniques. Start out in the flat water, get your balance, and off you go. Groups are small and personal. Or you can have a private or semi-private lesson. Customized stand up paddle board lessons allow you to choose the start times, and lesson length.
INTERMEDIATE: Learn to SUP in the waves, start small and get some longer rides. at this level, we are working on timing and turning. The wave does all the work if you know how to find the sweet spot. We have multi-day classes that can span your whole vacation, or be your regular weekend activity. With some practice, you will be catching on before you know it. We provide all the equipment. Lessons six days a week, year round. Lesson start times are 8 am and 10 am.
ADVANCED: Advanced SUP stand up paddle board lessons are available by appointment. All levels and Styles, Coaching and Clinics.
KIDS: Children’s lessons available for kids 6 years and up. The minimum age for mixed adult group classes is 12 years old. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
