Maui Sports Unlimited is a family-owned and operated water sports school, passionate about outdoor adventures, ocean sports, and creating unlimited smiles. Founded in 1998, we brought together talented instructors, water enthusiasts, and creative thinkers to provide a unique experience in Maui’s ocean recreation industry. We pride ourselves on breaking the mold by offering access to the ocean for youth and families alike, building a legacy of sports and activities that bring joy and connection to the community.
Our Focus: With support from students, families, and the water sports community, Maui Sports Unlimited has grown into a trusted name in ocean recreation. Our programs help foster healthy, active lifestyles, creating lasting memories and lifelong passions for all ages. We are proud to have touched the lives of families across generations, with many students returning year after year.
Our Location: Maui is one of the windiest places on the planet, offering ideal conditions for all water sports throughout the year. Our South Maui location benefits from consistent trade winds and a unique valley that funnels the wind, making it the perfect place for windsurfing, kiteboarding, surfing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Many top athletes, from beginner to professional, choose Maui as their training destination.
Our Programs: Whether you’re a local Ka’ama’ina family or visiting Maui, our programs are designed for people of all ages and skill levels, from 4 to 84 years old. We nurture motivation and push boundaries through the guidance of our dedicated, expert instructors. Some of our youngest coaches have grown up in our kids’ programs and are now sharing their knowledge and passion for ocean sports with the next generation.
Our Methods: While having fun, we also ensure that you are learning valuable skills. We ignite passion for the ocean in others by nurturing natural motivations. Our focus is on family fun, and we offer a variety of ocean recreation activities like windsurfing, surfing, kiteboarding, and stand-up paddleboarding (SUP). Our experienced instructors also help with rentals, coaching, accommodations, and travel needs.
Our Sports: In addition to our regular classes, we’ve introduced Standup Paddle Surfing (SUP) and Wing-surfing to our programs. We’ve been teaching SUP since its inception and offer regular lessons and tours. Wing-surfing has quickly become a popular addition to our classes, expanding our offerings to meet the demand for new, exciting water sports.
Our Surf Club: We’re proud to host our Surf Club location in Kihei, home to our kids’ surfing programs, adult surf classes, and our surf school education center. It’s the hub for our community and students, offering both social events and opportunities to connect and grow in the ocean sports community.
